Fýri Trail by Salomon is the Nordic Final of the Golden Trail National Series!

This is your chance to compete to be the Nordic champion, win the prize money and the grand prize – a ticket to the Golden Trail Championship!

Are you dreaming of competing in the final of Fýri Trail by Salomon? You don’t need to have competed in all the races in the Nordic Golden National Series to join the final, but if you get in the top 5 in any of the races, Salomon will invite you to the final!

The Elite Group consists of the top 5 female and male runners in any of the races in the Golden Trail National Series 2023. Alternatively, if you can provide us with a top five score from any 2023 trail run over 25 km, you can also join the Elite Group. To enter the Elite Group, simply email jonas.svengard@essgroup.se.

Everyone starting at Fýri Trail by Salomon can take part in the two special stages; “Queen of the Hill” and “Master of Disaster”.

29km – Fýri Trail by Salomon

Fýri Sports Club is the starting point of the Fýri Trail by Salomon race.
Here, you’ll run on asphalt, gravel, and wide trails for the first 4,5 kilometers. Then you’ll reach the challenging and technically demanding “Queen of the Hill” special stage, featuring a steep, 3-kilometer trail with 550 meters of elevation gain. The fastest runner of this section will be crowned the Queen of the Hill and win 5000 nok in prize money. The title is not reserved for the first one to reach the hilltop; the fastest time is what counts.

At the summit of the mountain, you’ll find the first energy station, and then you’ll move on to the next mountain with 1 kilometer and 150 meters of elevation gain. When you reach the peak Røgjin at 1350 meters, you’ll enjoy a beautiful downhill run for 2 kilometers before crossing the gravel road and starting the Fýri Trail 18k, “the easy path”. The Fýri Trail 18 k “the easy path” starts 12:00, so this part will be a bit crowdy if you pass this section under lunch hour. You also find the second energy station!
Gather your strength, for the next 13k you are about to experience the majesty of Norway’s wild nature! Trek through mountain trails and make your way to picturesque lakes and enjoy one of the best trail running experiences in the Nordic region. The last leg of your journey will feature a steep, 34% gradient trail that will lead you to the Hemsedal Ski Resort.

Once you arrive at the ski resort, you will find the third and final energy station, where you can restock before taking on the 4km downhill segment of Master of Disaster. Race downhill to Fýri Resort and cross the finish line with a bang! The fastest runners in the men’s and women’s categories will receive a 5000 nok prize.

And then, the “Mud & Champagne” the after run party can begin!

18km – The Fýri Trail 18 k “The easy path”

Start your adventure on the Fýri Trail with a convenient ride on the shuttle bus from Fýri Resort to the start at Holdeskaret.

Unfortunately, no shuttle bus service is provided from the finish to the start, so please don’t take your own car to the start ore you’ll need to make the 6 km uphill walk back to the start.

After the start you will run about 800 meters are on a gravel road. To avoid being stuck in a trail queue, be sure to pick up the pace on the initial 800 of gravel before you reach the narrow mountain trail!

Now, gather your strength! For the next 13k you are about to experience the majesty of Norway’s wild nature! Trek through mountain trails and make your way to picturesque lakes and enjoy one of the best trail running experiences in the Nordic region. The first energy station is located after 6 km. The last leg of your journey will feature a steep, 34% gradient trail that will lead you to the Hemsedal Ski Resort.

56km – Fýri Ultra

56 km – Fýri Ultra
Fýri Resort is the starting point of the Fýri Ultra. Here, you’ll run on asphalt, gravel, and wide trails for the first 7 km before you reach Ullsåk, where you will pass RV52 and start your first real climb.
Now, about 12 km of fantastic mountain trail awaits before you end up in Hemsedal Village and some well-deserved gravel roads up to Fýri Resort, where you have your only drop zone and second energy station. After leaving Fýri for the second time
you will share the trail with runners from the 29k and 18 k race.

The first 4k after Fýri you’ll run on asphalt, gravel, and wide trails before you reach the challenging and technically demanding “Queen of the Hill” special stage, featuring a steep, 3-kilometer trail with 550 meters of elevation gain.
