victory stories

2024 – Back to Where It All Began:

This year, we return to the classic Hemsedal Mountain Challenge trail, but with a little twist! When you arrive in Hemsedal village, you need to take of your skis and walk over the road and the bridge to “Sentrumløypa” where you will continue your journey on skis up and down to the finish line at Fýri Resort.

Start at Løkjestølane.

The adventure kicks off with an ascent to Nibbi, offering a genuine connection with the mountain’s spirit. At the summit, shed your skins and savor the rush of a 200-meter descent to the picturesque Grunnane.

The trail gracefully turns westward, revealing the hidden gems of Skurvefjell’s backside. Reapply your skins and follow the green-marked trail to the summit of Skurvefjell. Take off your skins again as you pass through a manned checkpoint, a testament to your alpine prowess.

Descend southwards into the Skurvefjell bowl, navigating the thrilling Syneskaret couloir. Continue westward above the scenic Synebekken until the forest boundary.

Enter the wooded section, where the trail becomes a blend of nature and challenge. Cross the tranquil Synebekken flowing eastward and meet the ancient cart track on the eastern slopes of Synehovda. Follow the historic route down to Trøym, traverse the fields towards Trøymsvegen, and gradually reach the heart of Hemsedal.

The snow conditions will dictate how far your skis can take you, after the road RV52 and the bridge over Hemsil you will put on your skis and skins for a climb up in Sentrumløypa before the last 800 meters of downhill to the finish line at Fýri Sports Club.

Let the After Ski begin!
